Arboyne House is a rambly, ancient property in the village of Eardisley in gentle west Herefordshire. We moved here in part because we could see the wide possibilities for practising hospitality here. In particular, we would like to provide either simple or tailor-made breaks to those serving in Christian mission and ministry in the widest sense. From our own experience we know that people sometimes just need time out but in other cases might appreciate friendly company, a chance to share experience, low-key pastoral care and the opportunity for someone to pray with.

You can find details of all our holiday accommodation on the main pages of the website. Families are welcome as well as individuals and couples. We will be glad to offer discounts to Christian workers as seems appropriate. Obviously we need to make ends meet but equally we hope no-one who really needs a break feels unable to visit us. When you contact us, please let us know if this applies to you!

We are happy to cater for small groups. We can welcome up to about twelve individuals for day retreats and meetings. The large Arboyne House living room can easily accommodate this number. For overnight stays we have comfortable beds for up to ten guests.

Arboyne House includes a number of quiet spaces which invite guests to sit and pray or sit and think - or maybe just to sit …… These include several indoor living rooms and peaceful corners but also a number of relaxing garden spaces.  We can offer support and guidance, if a visitor would value a guided retreat. We are part of the Quiet Garden Movement: www.quietgarden.org
As a couple we have been involved in Christian ministry and pastoral care for many years. For fifteen of those we served in ministry overseas, mostly in India and Bangladesh. Much of our work has included pastoral support of colleagues, including through some tough situations. For two years we were pastoral leaders of  ‘Bethany’, a Christian centre on a island near Hong Kong. We are not professional counsellors; just full time Christian disciples. We come to the setting of Arboyne House with no agenda at all except a wish to share this place with others in an easy-going way. And we believe we have been round the block a few times and so as hosts we can welcome with a realistic sympathy those struggling through the grittier patches of this life.
